A program of Malecare

Experience is the best medicine.

Connect 1-on-1 with a trained peer mentor who has walked your path with prostate cancer. Free, confidential, and built for safe peer support — not a forum, not a community feed, not medical care.

What this is

A safe, private way to talk to someone who's been there.

One-to-one, not a forum

This is private peer mentoring. There are no public posts, no group chats, no community feeds. Just a safe, direct introduction between two people.

Peer support, not medical care

Mentors share their lived experience and emotional support. They do not give medical advice, diagnose, or recommend treatment. Always talk to your healthcare team about medical decisions.

Private by design

Your name and contact details stay hidden until you choose to share them. The first message goes through an anonymous introduction relay.

Free, always

Malecare is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The peer mentor program is free to patients, caregivers, and mentors.

How it works

From signup to a real conversation, in five steps.

  1. 01

    Create a free account

Pick your path — patient, caregiver, or mentor — and verify your email.

  2. 02

    Complete a short intake

Tell us about your diagnosis, treatment, language, location, and what kind of support you're looking for.

  3. 03

    Review your matches

We rank 3–5 mentors using your structured answers. You see a plain-language reason for each match.

  4. 04

    Send an anonymous intro

Pick one mentor. Send a first message through the platform — your name and contact details stay private.

  5. 05

    Connect, one-on-one

If the mentor accepts, their approved contact options unlock. Both of you confirm 'we connected' to begin the relationship.

Safety first

We do not provide emergency or medical care.

Peer mentors share what they lived through — they do not diagnose, treat, or advise on medical decisions. Please speak with your healthcare team about treatment. If you are in crisis, get help immediately.

In an emergency

Call 911 or your local emergency number for immediate help.

In the US, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available 24/7 by call or text.
